Blue Thermal

So there’s this anime movie premiered last week. I saw the trailer a few months ago and added it to my reminder. (Sail)planes! Sky! Sports anime! Drama! It seemed just like my thing.

The thing is, it tried to compress 5 whole volumes of manga into two hours. The result is a lot of things got cut off and quite confusing especially as I haven’t read the manga at the time. Not to mention the ending cut even more things short and jumped to what originally took a few years in the manga. Not enough explanation was given and stuff.

I do quite like the rest of it even though I didn’t quite get it the first time and a lot of jargon were thrown around without sufficient explanation (or maybe I just didn’t catch it). The MC’s past was just mentioned in short flashes and needed a lot of extrapolation.

After watching the movie I went of reading the whole manga set (5 volumes and 1 prequel volume and one extra one-shot). It filled up a good chunk of details missing in the movie but unfortunately it looked like the manga serialization was cut short and differently jumped off to the ending (which in the anime it looked like didn’t take actual years). And even worse the ending was kind of different! What the fuck have I gotten myself into (屮゜Д゜)屮

So, yeah, it was overall fun series but the ending left a lot to be desired. I would watch the movie again but maybe I’ll just get the blu-ray later.

I did look into it before even buying the ticket and saw it’s ended 5 years ago. I assumed it got proper ending and deemed good enough to warrant a movie. The ending part clearly isn’t the case and I have no idea why this got a movie long after the serialization ended (which was almost clearly cut short). Maybe there’s still hope for actual sequel?

Oh yeah I quite like the songs as well so I bought the CD above.

Maou gakuin no futekigousha ep. 10-11

That was more useful than expected

So I forgot to actually post last week’s. Not like there’s much to say anyway.

Hm, so there’s someone else behind all the fights even 2000 years ago? 🤔

What’s with Eleonore at the end of ep. 11 even.

With two episodes left, I guess we’ll only get as far as figuring out what’s happened to Hero Kanon?

Oregairu kan ep. 7

Late because I lacked sleep at the broadcast day.

The rap sure wasn’t expected, lol.

That student council president ended up being more useful than expected giving Hachiman team relatively good feedback.

At current rate it looks like this will be the last arc? Or second last?

It took me until the end to realize what the episode title actually means. Poor Yui having to observe them until the end.

Randomly Max Coffee

So I was walking around Akiba last weekend (which I probably shouldn’t have) and noticed one of the vending machines is selling this. I’m not sure how common it is but this is the first time I noticed it (ever) and I figured might as well try it. It’s Oregairu’s Hachiman favorite drink and apparently the writer’s (Watari Wataru) as well?

I haven’t tried it but apparently it’s on the “very sweet” end of sweet beverage ranks.

Fate/stay night HF3

Spoiler free =)

Also be careful when going out during this period. Mask etc. Waiting for blu-ray is probably preferred.

This series sure last very long time. Not just the various spinoffs and stuff but even the main story has just only finished getting animated this year. Also interesting this is one of the few VN adaptations which have all the routes covered.

By the magic of living nearby movie theater and looking at the seating at perfect timing, I managed to watch this on release day.

Loads of cool fights which are only possible by the anime media. ufotable didn’t disappoint as usual. Everyone got their own cool moments with highlight of course Emiya’s fights.

The only complaint I have would be the epilogue focused a bit too much on Sakura and Rin with almost nothing else getting explanation.

Poster thingy in the theater. It’s not quite visible from this photo but there are multiple layers of it
“Today open!!” “I promise, I’ll be Sakura’s hero of justice -Emiya Shirou”

The quote is very HF-Shirou.

Oreigairu kan OP Single – Megumi no ame

It’s a thing. I forgot about it but it’s nothing rare. They sure recycled the cover well.

The thing on the left is “dekajake” (big jacket?). I haven’t taken out the plastic wrap but it sure looks like a color printed paper of the cover image enlarged. It’s almost shikishi-sized just a bit short.

The B3 poster is reversible with the other side being the photo of yanaginagi herself.

I’ll need to rip the CD sometime. I suspect I haven’t even opened the CDs for S2 theme songs so I’ll do that as well.

Maou gakuin no futekigousha ep. 4

And, well, everyone live on and happily ever after. Of course. The ring mentioned last week also made appearance. No surprise here either.

New arc next week.

I remembered to check this during broadcast time but as it turned out just having Amazon Prime (Video) isn’t enough for watching during premiere. Thus to the high seas I went (or just wait because I’ve set up things).

Maou gakuin no futekigousha ep. 3

Notice the ring Misha wears there. Mildly interesting it’s put on her ring finger

This show sure is broadcasted at interesting time. It’s convenient but I forgot about it until it’s a bit too late. Not that it matters because watching this one raw is a bit difficult due to all the terminologies.

The title says Sasha’s true intention but the last scene kinda hints that her actual intention hasn’t actually been revealed 😐

I initially thought it’s the remaining time to the end of exam but it’s actually the end of the day.

His talk with Ivis was also pretty interesting. I wonder if figuring out the “fake” Demon King is the main theme of this anime adaptation. That would be nice. I’m not holding my breath though.

Maou gakuin no futekigousha ep. 1-2

Everyone seemed to talk about this being another Ore tue and it got my interest when I heard about the MC throwing a castle around. It sounded too absurd to pass by so I started watching it.

It sure is fun. It’s got pretty much what I expect from a series with a proud overpowered MC. I didn’t expect him to be actually one month old and was like completely grow up just like that.

That girl up there is very much template tsundere. And it’s good.

Curious what Misha’s abilities are.

Oregairu ep. 2

Maybe the tendency has been there since beginning

Second episode! They introduced the problem Yuigahama is having, a hint to her and Hachiman’s past, and a new member.

The pace is pretty good as time flew by without me noticing.

Oregairu ep. 1

Since I really have forgotten what’s happened, I started rewatch \o/

Boy that sure was one fun opening episode. I didn’t even remember that it went like that initially. Their initial dialogue also pretty much carries over till the third season.

I’ll probably be watching two-three episodes or so a day hoping I can fully catch up in one or two weeks.

Assuming I don’t go full marathon instead.

Which is kinda possible.

Oregairu kan ep. 1

Suddenly yuri?

Finally gotten around to watch this. And then I completely at loss on what’s going on. I probably should’ve rewatched Zoku (or even from the first season) beforehand.

So, apparently it continues straight off from the end of second season. Which is five years ago.

I even forgot that the original season has way better character design.

It also feels closer to the original Ponkan-8 design.

Oh well, at this point story takes priority and I’ll just march on. And maybe get around reading novel one day.
